Nevta or Neota Dam - Sanganer Tehsil, Jaipur.
7 Kilometers away from Mansarovar,
Nevta (also known as Neota) is a small village under the Sanganer Tehsil,
Jaipur, Rajasthan. This small village is blessed with a beautiful and peaceful
place called “NEVTA DAM” since 1867. This place is very popular among the
students of the universities near it because it has vibes like a long-lost
beach.
It is a hidden gem in Jaipur which
is surrounded by dense greenery. Visit this place in winter to get one of the
most memorable experiences. The best part is it is open all the time.
Back in 2018, Nevta Dam was all over
the news due to the construction of Ring Road. This construction was covering
approximately 1000 meters of irrigation land in the Nevta Dam area. Nevta Dam
has been the only source of water for the villagers near it. Due to continuous
urbanization and industrialization, Nevta Dam water has been polluted to an
extreme level. Due to this Government bodies are now highly active and the dam
has been transferred to the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) for its proper
maintenance.
Despite all the pollution and
construction near it, Nevta Dam has never disappointed its visitors. Winter
migratory birds like northern Shoveler, north Pintail, Gadwall, and Eurasian
wigeon are sighted here. Thousands of these birds start arriving here in the
first week of December for nesting and breeding. This makes Nevta Dam a haven
of exotic birds. It is a perfect place for you and your friends to enjoy the
pleasant sunrise and the golden sunset.
I had a pleasant and memorable
visits, share your experience in the comment section below.
