Jagarna: A Unique Dogri Folk Dance of Jammu.
Jagarna is a traditional Dogri folk dance of Jammu, India. It is a unique dance that is performed only by women, and it is typically associated with weddings. Jagarna is performed after the groom's party leaves for the bride's house, and it continues all night long.
The Jagarna dance is performed in a circle, and the dancers clap their hands and sing traditional Dogri songs. The songs are often about love, marriage, and family. The dancers also wear traditional Dogri costumes, which are typically brightly colored and embellished with mirrors and sequins.
One of the unique aspects of the Jagarna dance is that it is performed in a very private setting. Only the women of the bride's family and close friends are allowed to watch the dance. This is because the Jagarna dance is considered to be a very sacred and special event.
